Year: 4

POSt: Nutritional Sciences Major, Health & Disease Major, Immunology Minor

Fun Fact: I discovered my passion for nutrition and baking when I was 6 (I would read the nutrition facts table and watch cooking videos in my free time!).

Why I joined NSSA: My experiences as NSSA's secretary in my 3rd year could not have been any more fulfilling. I found people who shared similar interests, and some who brought new perspectives. I want to provide a welcoming space for students to connect and find their path at UofT, just as I had by joining NSSA.

Year: 3

POSt: Nutritional Sciences Major, Pharmacology Major

Fun Fact: I still don’t own a pan

Why I joined NSSA:

A NSSA cooking event I spontaneously attended in my first year :) I made new friends, learned about anticancer benefits of foods, and discovered the world of Nutritional Sciences (its how I chose this major!) I found it to be such fun experience and great learning opportunity that I joined NSSA to help create more events for others.

Year: 4

POSt: Nutritional Sciences Major, Neuroscience Major, Psychology Minor

Fun Fact: Ranch dressing and mashed potatoes go really well together...

Why I joined NSSA: The community! I wanted to get more involved in campus life, and I love our beautiful little department. I love love love meeting new people, and so it felt like a no-brainer to join the NSSA. It's also a great opportunity to learn more about the field (to be honest, choosing nutritional sciences was a little spontaneous) and to meet so many incredible and impressive people!

Fun Fact: I like making up random recipes with whatever I can find in my fridge and just hope it doesn't taste disgusting.

Why I joined NSSA: I really wanted to become more involved in the Nutritional Science community at UofT. I think that being a part of the NSSA provides huge oppurtunities to connect with peers, support student initiatives, and help create a welcoming environment for everyone in the program. I also think that being a part of the NSSA allows me to learn a lot more about oppurtunities in the field through networking, events, and conversations with upper-year students, faculty, and professionals.

POSt: Human Biology Major, Physiology Minor, Biology Minor

Fun Fact: I love the Starbucks in Robarts

Why I joined NSSA:  I joined NSSA as a way to explore my genuine interest for nutrition, along with having the ability to connect with others who share this same interest as me. As busy university students, I understand that proper nutrition is often neglected, so I hope that as a group we can all explore ways to build and maintain healthy habits (especially during chaotic midterm seasons). I'm so excited to be a part of all the great activities NSSA has to offer this term!
